The original work of the lecturers who are well-accepted clinicians/scientists in their field and whose lectures have been presented at a congress with its specific accreditation has been embedded. Therefore, text slides and audio track may have typing and/or language errors. Scientific board members are not liable for the correctness, completeness and actuality of hosted lecture information.

Privacy of the Learner

There are two ways in which we collect personal information through our online CME activities. The first is when an online user provides information (name, address, e-mail address, affiliation, telephone number) in order to complete an activity. By registering at POB, the user agrees that this information is stored in a database, so that we may track the number of people using the website to obtain CME credits. This record-keeping is required by the accreditation authorities.
The second instance in which personal information is requested is during enrolment for our optional e-mail update service, in order to receive alerts when new items are added to the website or when we announce other new educational services. An opt-out form enables news alert subscribers to unsubscribe at any time. We do not distribute unsolicited e-mails, nor do we share the names of our subscribers with any third party.
We do analyse our computer log file to determine which pages are visited most often and which external websites refer the most visitors to perioperativebleeding.org. We perform periodic basic demographic analyses, including optional website user surveys, for the express purpose of tailoring future online CME activities to meet the greatest need and interest.

The content of this platform has been selected with prudence from a variety of sources by the scientific board members. A full declaration of conflicts of interest of members of the scientific board and lecturers is given here and in the module box.

The educational content has been quality-assured prior to application to the EACCME for accreditation: Two independent and authoritative accessors reviewed the content of www.perioperativebleeding.org for all relevant legal, medico-legal and ethical requirements during the Austrian accreditation process. Permissions from speakers and organising committees of scientific meetings have been obtained.

The domain www.perioperativebleeding.org is owned by the scientific board member Prof. Dr. Sibylle Kietaibl (formerly Kozek-Langenecker), MBA (anaesthesiologist). Construction and maintenance of the non-profit educational program POB is funded by a donation account at the Danube University Krems.
